We have found when lights go out it is usually a grounding issue. It could be in your positive cable to the battery. As noted you do need to make sure your battery post connections are good too.

You will have to use an adapter to go from a 50 amp to 30 amp connection. The 50 amp service has a 4 prong plug where 30 only has 3 so it won’t work without an adapter. These are available online and at local camping stores. The positive terminal in that second battery is then hooked up to the 12-volt system and you should be good to go.
The higher the A-H rating, the more powerful the battery. Batteries used to power the coach in an RV must be a deep-cycle design to withstand the frequent and deep discharges and recharging they typically receive. Engine-starting batteries won’t last long if used in place of deep-cycle batteries, so this practice should be avoided. But as mentioned earlier, this color code system only works for the AC side of the RV electrical system. The DC side will have red as the positive and black as the negative.
